They will take advantage of you being away from home. They are known to bang doors and walls but they do not stop if you ask them to and it is definitely an unpleasant experience.

There have also been cases of public indecency and the warden or hostel in charge will only make them write an apology letter. As of now, they have been silenced due to incessant complaining but the harassment still continues sometimes.

If you are not from North India, then do not think of coming to SRM University. The batch of 2018-19 was not good at all. Most of the students were ill-minded and perhaps from the goonish areas of Haryana.

If you bring your parents for a visit, most of them will have positive responses as they do not want to be silenced after complaints but this is the current scenario here. My advice to you would be to think twice before you decide to take a seat here.

SRM Sonepat is still in its developing phase. You won’t get your money’s worth there. There are only 3 B.Tech batches that have passed out. Most placement offers are either from the marketing sector or business analysts. Just 5% of the students get job offers in core sectors of their specific streams but with a very low package.

The faculty is also not that good. You can get better teachers even in certain coaching institutes where your total expense can climb up to only 6-10k for a valuable cause.
You can also get various other colleges at almost the same fees, such as HMR, LPU, AMITY, SHARDA, JAYEEE, SRM Chennai, VIT, and several others. They might charge you more than the average amount, but you will be provided better faculty and facilities. The study environment in SRM Sonepat is not good neither is the student crowd.
The Civil and Mechanical branches have acquired nearly zero placement (except only a handful of 2–3 students) for the past couple of years. The students who pass out are mostly offered jobs that are not related to their actual branch.

So, it will be better if you don’t keep SRM Sonepat as one of your options.

If you are interested in doing MBA from some foreign university, get minimum work experience after graduation.
