Founded in 1964 as Napier Technical College (named after the historic John Napier, Mathematician, and inventor of logarithms and decimal points), the university only welcomed 800 students as its first batch of students in its first year of operation. Located at 10 Bankhead Terrace, Edinburgh EH11 4DY, United Kingdom, the university is a Scottish public university that is home to a diverse student body of up to 19,500 students coming from 140 countries.
With three main campuses in Murchison, Craig Lockhart, and Sight hill, Edinburgh Napier University was founded in 1964 as Napier Technical college. In 1992 it became a university and got its current name in 2009.
