Established in 1958, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is one of the largest Universities in Malaysia and among the top 50% of Universities of the world. Ranking 9th in Malaysia and 184th in the world by the UI GreenMetric in 2020, the University is one of the popular choices for students planning to study in Malaysia.

Currently, around 189,008 students are enrolled at UiTM out of which 95% are undergraduate students and the remaining 5% are enrolled in graduate degree programs. Universiti Teknologi MARA Campus and Accommodations

Universiti Teknologi MARA has a total of 35 campuses all over Malaysia which includes 13 State campuses and 21 satellite campuses. The main campus is situated in Shah Alam, Selangor.

Kristal Residential College offers accommodation facilities to both international and domestic students. It is managed by the office of International affairs.

The College has 11 floors with a total of 83 apartments. Each apartment has 3 bedrooms along with a dining hall, kitchen, living room and 2 bathrooms.
The well-furnished apartments are equipped with amenities like a single or double bed, study table and chair and cupboard.

Note - The monthly rate for a single unit ranges from 330 MYR to 660 MYR and rent for an apartment unit ranges from 1200 MYR to 1600 MYR. Payment of the room is on a per-semester basis for full-time students. However, they must pay a one month’s deposit while applying.

Universiti Teknologi MARA Programs

The University is known for its Master’s programs in Malaysia and offers 162 postgraduate degrees and 55 Doctoral degrees on graduate-level for international students.

The graduate programs are offered in areas of study like Business & Management, Accountancy, Science, Technology, Engineering, Dental, Pharmacy, Education, Law, Hospitality and Art & Design.
Master's degree programs are either based on coursework or research. Coursework based degrees are professional qualification while the research-based degree involves thesis and practicals. Some Masters degrees can also be pursued in mixed mode including both coursework and research.
The PhD programs are research-based professional degrees that can be completed between 18 months to 4 years. Some of the top PhD majors are Medicine, Pharmacy, Education, Business Management and Dentistry.
The Master of Business Administration offered by UiTM is an 18-month coursework based qualification. The program is delivered at Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School. It is a dynamic masters degree that can be pursued in disciplines like Marketing, Operation Management and Strategic management.
UiTM offers a Masters in Engineering in fields of study like Civil, Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical. The program can be pursued with several specializations based on the field of study.
Master of Civil Engineering is offered with majors in geotechnics, environment, construction and water resources while Electrical Engineering is offered with majors in telecommunication and radiofrequency.

All students seeking admission to Universiti Teknologi MARA must have minimum qualifications as required by the program they are applying into. International students are eligible to apply for both master's degree and PhD courses. Students may either apply for a coursework degree or research-based master or PhD programs.

Universiti Teknologi MARA Financial Aid

Universiti Teknologi Mara offers several scholarships for international students in Malaysia as financial assistance to cover their tuition fees and living expenses.

Endowment Scholarship: The scholarship is renewable for up to 2 years of Masters Degree programs and 4 years of Doctoral Degree.
The students are also required to present their progress report to receive this scholarship. The progress report should include progress of research work, research publication result and innovation result.
