- In the course, students will learn how raw materials can be transformed into useful products in a safe and cost-effective way. For example petrol, plastics and synthetic fibres such as polyester and nylon, all come from oil.
- Chemical engineers understand how to alter the chemical, biochemical or physical state of a substance, to create a range of products as diverse as cosmetics and fuels.
- The course covers energy resource exploitation and management, industrial practices and processes, chemical thermodynamics and reaction engineering, process design and control, health and safety and protection of the environment, and petroleum and chemical refining.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- 96 UCAS points
- A Levels - grades CCC / BCD to include Mathematics with minimum grade C
- BTEC L3 Extended Diploma or OCR Cambridge L3 Technical Extended Diploma - grades MMM in Applied Science will be considered on an individual basis. Applicants will be expected to have studied at least two Chemistry related modules.
- Access to Science HE Diploma: 45 L3 credits at Merit
