I applied to xavier's because i liked the infrastructure and the history behind st xaviers college. Also the expert faculty in statistics is also a factor. I got admission in several other colleges but the vibrant campus life and the reputation of xaviers made me chose xavier's over others. The admission process is pretty simple. We just have to send our higher secondary results and based on cut off we get in.
The curriculum is really good at xavier's. The faculties provide examples of real life applications to most of the theory they teach. But the curriculum needs more projects and hands on experiments in several aspects. Two semester exams in a year is conducted and the difficulty level range from moderate to difficult.
The yearly fee structure at St. Xavier’s College includes: - Tuition Fee: ?30,000 - Admission Fee: ?5,000 (one-time) - Registration Fee: ?1,000 - Caution Fee: ?3,000 (refundable) - Development Fee: ?7,000 - Lab Fee: ?2,000 - Other Charges: ?2,000 The fees generally increase by about 5% annually. Scholarships include the Xavier's Scholarship for merit-cum-need, offering up to ?25,000 per year. For SC/ST and management quota students, fees may vary slightly, with additional aid available based on specific criteria.
The annual intercollege festival of xaviers is called malhar and it is one of the best fests in mumbai. It is held in august. Also there is janfest and various other fests. The library is a home to a wide range of various books and you will get any books in any genre here. The facilities and technological provisions here are really nice. The campus support a lot of sports and extracurricular activities thereby supporting the students in their area of interest. There are a lot of student run social groups and clubs that helps the students in engaging social activities.
St xavier's has a wide range of experted faculty in many fields. Many of the faculty are approachable and most of them help us with our studies if we find it difficult. One of the nitable facluty include annapurna ma'am and saju sir of statistics department. They teach really well and clear all pur doubts in the class itself. Economics, english and bms department have other notable faculties. The math department faculties are not that effective. They fail to clear some doubts and the materials they teach are unclear to most of the students.
The curriculum is known as the heart of the ‘educational institution’. It is important to evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum so as to ensure that the education imparted is helpful for the students. Here are a few ways which can help in evaluating the curriculum: An internal review by the teachers - The teachers can review and revise the curriculum based on their expertise and knowledge. An external review - An external review can be conducted so as to understand the effectiveness of the curriculum. Observation of academic results - An overview and comparison of the results can also help in understanding better the current curriculum and the previous one. Student’s views - Since students are the ones who shall be studying from that curriculum thus probably we can ask for the student’s views on the curriculum development.

The curriculum has been set precisely, the only problem is that the college faculty should go accordingly , improvement can be made , but the curriculum for for the first year is good as it gives us knowledge of all aspects of medicine.
Yes the subject teaching methods are modern and as a learner it's quite applicable in the real world. Practicals start from 2nd year and that's the important part as theory can only take you so far and practical knowledge is important in the medical field

Considering Bsc. Economics is an academic and not a professional degree, the placement cell of our college is fairly decent. Most people don't sit for the placements as they want to pursue masters in economics or an MBA. We have compulsory internships after the 1st and 2nd year which improve employability and work experience. Mostly finance, public think tanks, consulting and marketing/market research companies come for placements. Packeges on average range from 4 lacs to 12 lacs
